Scottish Basket Hilt Sword
Order
Code: SW5
This
is a typical example of a "Glasgow" pattern
basket hilt broadsword that was dominant throughout
the Jacobite period. This beautifully crafted hilt is
hot forged from steel that is elegantly ornamented with
triple fullering throughout the barwork and acid etched
pattern all over the hilt. The solid oak grip has steel
ferrules and is wrapped in blue-grey rayskin with spiral
copper wire bindings. A leather liner covered either
side with thick red cloth adorns the inside of the hilt.
Scottish
Sword made from silicon manganese steel that is hardened
and tempered to 52-54 Rockwell C.
